A taxing entity will not usually go for more than two years without collecting before they take action. The taxing entity is normally just interested in getting what has been assessed - the back taxes - a fraction of the value of the property. This means that the taxing entity will be very happy if an investor (like you or me) comes and pays the back taxes. The fact that you get the deed to the property doesn't matter to the taxing entity. As long as you continue to pay the yearly tax assessment as the new owner, they are happy!
